What does it say when you try?
Did you extract the contents of the zip file into a folder before trying to install?  It won't work to install directly from the ZIP file.

because it could be inconvenient in some cases. such as, a zip file completes a download and you want to scan it before you extract it, because it may be infected with viruses.

Part of the point of a zip file is to reduce the amount of space used.  There wouldn't be much point if every time you tried to reduce the amount of space that was used, it extracted your files right out again and left you with the original ;).

Maybe you should do a virus scan some time...get AVG Free.
I scan everything I download before I unzip it or open it.

Certain things (like SGDK2 pre-alpha releases) I dont scan. If the thing is trustable enough, I dont bother. But if its something totally new, or comes from a big business website, I scan it. Besides, it only takes like 4 seconds to scan something, Right Click>>Scan with AVG Free>>4 second scan>>no virus found.

Because Big Businesses are much more likely to try to send out viruses than single programmers who have nothing better to do... (Not talking about BlueMonk, of course, but malicious ne'er-do-wells in general).  I would personally trust downloads from a big business (i.e. Adobe, or Microsoft) much more than something I got off of somebody's homepage.  Mostly that's because  it's harder to hack a corporate website, and there are measures in place to ensure that the file you downloaded is the one the provided (i.e. Compare an MD5 Hash of the file)

I think you said something backwards there.  Anyway, yes, if I were you I'd even scan SGDK2 pre-alpha releases because you don't know that I use AVG to verify that my system is virus free.  I could be distributing viruses unintentionally.  However I will tell you that I too do use AVG so it's unlikely that I would be distributing anything that AVG would recognize as a virus.  And I'm too busy with SGDK2 and a positive image to ruin everything by intentionally making and distributing a virus.
