Post by: SmartBoy16 on 2007-12-01, 04:24:50 PM
im going to "convert" some of my projects from SGDK1 to SGDK2, right now i am using psp7 demo, but its about to expire (unless i come up with a lot of $$$ :'() does anybody know where i can find a free program that makes png files. i have office 2000 at home, but it keeps freezing my computer, so im not going to try that one.

You can import BMP files directly into SGDK2.  If you use "Import image as Sheet" it will default to only show .png files, but you can also select .BMP files if you just change the "Files of type" dropdown to "All files"

What OS are you running?  Have you tried the paint program to see if it can save PNG files?  Also, I too would recommend GIMP.

http://www.irfanview.com/ (http://www.irfanview.com/)
Irfanview has a batch converter..

it should enable you to simply select all of your BMP in PNG and back again.

It says its compatible with windows 9x aswell. hope that helps :)
