Title: A pretty neat way to check a file for viruses
Post by: TheLaw on 2009-09-11, 01:21:03 PM
I just come across a pretty good find I thought I could share:

http://www.virustotal.com/

It's an online scanner that allows you to upload a single file at a time. I thought it was neat 'cause they run just about every major virus/spyware scanner available over your file for you. I'm still a little uneasy about the whole uploading online thing, but their licenses agreement made me feel a little more comfortable. The results could confuse the heck out of you since there's like a dozen scanners and they will have their own results, but it's something cool to try if you find a suspect file that you want to scan throughly.

Have a look under their Statistics tab too: http://www.virustotal.com/estadisticas.html  -Some neat stuff up in there...

LOL, just for kicks I sent SGDKIDE.exe, and she come back clean! So we're all safe! ;D (not that I ever suspected it as a virus, it was just for my amusement!, and to see if any scanners would give a false positive.)
