Title: Spring
Post by: durnurd on 2005-03-30, 10:25:29 AM
I just heard a Seagull!  Just like ten seconds ago!

And it's supposed to rain today!  Winter is finally over!

For me, Spring means having to find "real" work... odd jobs just aren't giving me the funds I need to fuel projects like this.

Methinks the term is "day job." Ho hum. :(

Never held a real job in my life.  Odd jobs are all that I do, and I seem to make enough money from that.  Web pages, sound design, people giving me  money, and fixing people's computer happens just enough so that I can live off it.

You must live with your folks... c'mon, be honest... ;D

If not, what's your secret to success?

Well, not right now I don't.  In college, actually.

I wish all my expenses were handled so I could just work all the time on my hobbies. After I graduate, I think I will just stick to a day job and then work on my projects in my free time.

Dunurd, what are you majoring in? Oya, I never asked Ben what he ever majored in? Musta been Comp Sci or something like that?

Yep, I was a computer science major.  Durnurd is majoring in computer science too (he's my brother).  My other brother is majoring in computer science too, but he doesn't obsess enough about cool things to get into GameDev seriously I guess ;).

Definitely. Sometimes you gotta major in the closest area of study. I'm majoring in communication art (because I realized programming was too concrete, end up working on databases for the rest of your life). I think Comp sci students at my school think I'm nuts when I'm taking Discrete Math or VB.  ;D
