Off-Topic / To the viewpoint of Someone Intellegent...
« on: 2008-07-14, 06:50:58 PM »
I've been thinking to put these thoughts on a forum... if you're are troubled by these thoughts, just dissmiss them as rubbish- but...
Upon my recent ponderings of life- I've asked:
Intellegence- is it a curse or a gift? the sayings of most people is usually the statement:
"Ignorance is bliss..." and I thought,  people who think about life with a certain brand of intellegence
are always usually riddled with deep questions or permanently scarred with their own dramatic answers. A young child is usually carefree of the troubling world that threatens to eventually swallow them into a pit of hard, undesirable truth. Another child who is just starting to question life may see their peers around them comfortable to their surroundings with no questions asked- I was and now am like that- and sometimes I think whether it would be better to be ignorant to life than to have the smarts to question it in such a repetetive manner. You may question my power of comprehension of the world by seeing this passage, many around me say the same.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy life, and have a positive input and output on it- I am neither depressed nor crazy- but I want to know if anyone- has ever thought about the effects of life and intellegence- feel free to speak yourr mind- I won't get offended by any negative comments.

Help, Errors, FAQ / Timebreak!
« on: 2008-06-01, 07:24:33 PM »
Hey, um, if anyone here has played Sonic and the Secret Rings- you should know about this thing called Timebreak.
(Sonic and the Secret Rings slows down and every object has an afterimage and the whole screen gets a white tint.)
I know how to slow down my game, and I found out this cool secret for afterimages (Making the tiles for your background transparent) But how do I make all of the non-transparent tiles in the background turn transparent? (Change all of the tiles in the background into different tiles)

General Discussion / 3D SGDK2 Game
« on: 2008-03-07, 10:56:39 PM »
I was reading the Contents of the SGDK2 and came up with this...

Quote
Extensive customizability: The vast majority of the generated game's source code is exposed in the IDE's "Source Code" folder and can be customized beyond recognition. This is theoretically flexible enough to allow you to go as far as creating a project whose source code generates a 3D game instead of a 2D game, or compiles to a web component instead of a Windows application. Furthermore a saved project file is nothing more than XML, so you can conceivably write your own programs to process, edit or re-use project data.

Is there anyone who has any idea in C++ how to actually do this?    (durund)

Does anyone have any knowledge of where I can get Banjo-Kazooie spritesheets?
(Bear with bird in bookbag fighting witch...and yes, it does sound absurd.)
And this may be in the wrong section, but do you know how to develop a Banjo-Kazooie type sprite definition with SGDK2.

General Discussion / DirectX 10
« on: 2008-02-08, 04:39:21 PM »
Can the SGDK 2 be compatible with DirectX 10? And if not will it be?
(Vista doesn't use DirectX 9 and OpenGL I have heard... I've tried 1.x on it, but my computer crashed, so I use the SGDK2 now)
