Why don't you try uploading your animations with Photobucket or Image Shack. Then you can just link directly to the animation. And, you can add sound. You can use Movie Maker or Flash. There's fighting sound effect libraries on certain sites.

Help/FAQ / Re: transparant inventory
« on: 2007-01-06, 08:17:38 PM »
I think there's an old thread about this somewhere...
You can't make them transparent but, in your case if it's a bar then the best you could do would be to put the bar in a tileset of it's own and size the tiles to the exact height and width of the bar, so there's no background. Another thing you could do would be to make a new layer on the map above all the other layers with no scrolling and have an opaque bar that goes across the top, bottom, or side and make the background of your health bar the same color/colors of that bar. Then have your health bar displayed above the bar...Hope that made sense, there was a lot of bars  :-\

Thanks for the feedback. The acid pit isn't really supposed to be too hard I guess because it's more meant to catch you by surprise the first time you play the game.(ie. If you stop above the acid to look at it). As I said before I slowed the player down because so it's harder when it crosses the acid. If the player is able to go fast right at the beginning I know atleast I would try to rush through right away and probably not even notice the acid.

Good point, I'll consider.
Yeah, I think I'm going to have one or two new items each level.
I haven't even thought about being able to return to levels but maybe I will add some things. I guess I would have to add a map of each level. For now I'm just going to make levels. I'll go back when I'm finished and add secret stuff. Did you notice there was an inventory map? You have to press Ctrl to get to it. I haven't really prettied it up yet :). Also, Did you beat level 1? I've played it a few times now and I still find a few parts challening. How many tries did it take you?

I remember when I first started the game I had him go faster but then I changed it for some reason. I think it gets easier when it's faster, like you don't take so much time crossing the acid hole thing in the beginning and you have little trouble avoiding robots and such. I may end up changing it though. Thanks for the comments.

I started a new game...again...
I'll probably get bored of this one after a while like all the others, but what do you think of level 1? Level 1 is 100% complete and I just started Level 2.

I'm working on a game with some background music I made. When the player falls in an acid pit it activates a die function which resets the map (Switch to new map). I've been fiddling around with this for quite a while trying to make it switch quickly. Could somebody please tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Depends on how complex you want your cutscenes.
There's Anim8or
Free, but limited in some ways. It takes a fairly long time to make something look good.

Random fill is a big thing, but also being able to select more than one color at once and drawing a shape with more than one color, along with lighting.

Wow...
Well if you'd rather use Paint then you obviously didn't give TS much of a chance...
