Hi. I'm completely new to this so apolgies if (a. I sound like a complete idiot or (b. this has already been answered in the forum or some part of the Help I haven't found yet.  :-[
I'm playing around with SGDK at the moment, trying to get a feel for it. I've just been mucking about with tiles so far. In the past I've used GameMaker and TGF, and they allowed me to display my game in an 800x600 window.
SGDK though seems to have a thing for fullscreen. I know you can't resize/minimise the tile editor etc, but is there any way to show the game in a smaller window? It's just a personal preference really- I like working small and it's kind of annoying when your little tiles get stretched to fill your entire screen- I have a big monitor and it makes things look blurred and generally nasty. :/ And I like to be able to see what my desktop is doing when I'm playing a game. (nothing worse than exiting fullscreen and finding lots of nice error messages waiting for you. Excuse the image but it's like lifting the sheets and finding the cat's left you a present, y'know?)
If not though, don't worry about it, I'm sure i'll get used to it ^_^

The graphics engine for GameDev 1.x has no support for a windowed display.  The only way to get the game into a window right now would be to write your own graphics engine and use the data from your game in your own program instead of using GameDev's engine.  GameDev does, however, support different resolutions.  If you want to use a higher or lower display resolution, it can range from 320x240 to 1024x768.

If someone were to add windowed display support to BMDXCtls, it might allow all GameDev games to be played in a window, but I would rather spend all my spare time on SGDK 2.0.  SGDK 2.0 will support creating and playing games in a window (not to mention editing graphics in a window).  But it'll probably be at least another year (maybe even 5) before SGDK 2.0 is ready.

The nice thing about the SGDK forum is that there aren't many questions being asked at one time, so it's easy to answer questions quickly, as they come up.
