fullscreen projects dont run

Im not sure if its because of vista or if its because my widescreen screen resolution is different to the games screen resolution, but i cant run any SGDK2 project in fullscreen....

I get

An unhandled exception has ocured in a component in your application, click continue and it will try and ignore the error, blah blah blah
continue exits game
quit exits game and program

Moving to fullscreen mode causes the resolution of your screen to change to the resolution of the game.  If your video card does not support the given resolution with your monitor, it may cause a crash.  Try setting your desktop resolution to the resolution of the game through the regular methods to see if it is possible to do so.  It may look stretched, but it would still be defined as working correctly.
