Favorite 7th Generation Gaming System
« on: 2009-01-20, 10:41:18 AM »
This is the one question i have always wanted to know, what is the best video game system (of this generation) that you guys like?

for me, that's the Wii. I have always been a Nintendo fan since the 64.

"Always" and "Since the 64" don't really go together.  Sure, it's three systems, but you're missing out on the two most influential systems, and several other not-so-influential ones:

NES
SNES
Virtual Boy (My Eyes!  They still reel in pain!)
Game Boy
Game Boy Color
Color Game Boy (not the same!)

I guess some of those aren't "consoles" but you still got the NES and SNES to worry about.  SNES was definitely the favored by far in that era.  As for this era, the PlayStation 3 is the technically superior option, while the Wii is the most fun option, and the XBox 360 is the everybody has one and I don't know why option.  (Honestly, you couldn't pay me to take one).

I still prefer the PC to any console, because I could never fully grasp the control scheme of any console.  Keyboard+Mouse FTW!

Nintendo went downhill ever since the '64.

the PS3 cost over 700 dollars here, while the xbox 360 is 300. So it's a clear choice there. Also I've never liked the playstation controllers, my hands are too big. (Even when I owned the PSX, I never liked the control. >.>)

I have a wii, but never play it anymore... the games library doesn't suit me, and the motion sensors end up just being a pain in the arse.

i didn't know video games existed since before the 64 (small town, and the fact that my mom keeps me out of society) i like the NES and SNES too, also the GB series. The VB i haven't actually played, but it seems interesting

Also I've never liked the playstation controllers

i hate those too.

hey there's a game for the wii that's coming out soon if you like shooting games (i forgot what it was called, but it looks cool, check GameInformer.com)

i forgot to add the DS and PSP to the list! :0

Although the DS and the PSP aren't "consoles" any more than the Gameboy is.
