I have been using Anim8or to create a 3D-animated modern-war movie called OPERATION PEACEKEEPER. It should be out by January.
Anyway, I'd also like to release a side-scrolling shoot-em-up based on the dogfight part of the movie. My model for the game is UN Squadron (go google it...)
I am new to the world of coding, except for a tiny bit of Javascript and HTML...So I found GameDev V2. It's pretty awesome.
Thanks.

Welcome to you!  I think it's a good idea for a first game, it can be as easy or as complicated as you want it to be. :)

Thanks. I'm probably going to render side views of my 3D objects for sprites.
Thanks
