This is somewhat signifigant...

Man, I own the off-topic category. ;D Anyways, I figured this is worth mentioning, my website is on page 4 when you do an msn search for '2d game development'. :)

Congrats! Are you using Google, btw? I don't see it, but we've encountered problems like that before.

SGDK is number two for "2d game development", though. And it looks like that scrolling text belt is gone...  :)

Bah, I can't even find Scrolling Game Development Kit in the MSN Search result list after searching for "Scrolling" or for "2d Game Development".  It's still pretty high on Google, though... beating out that belt buckle (which I did find in searches for "Scrolling" in both search engines).  I like Google :).  I wonder if MSN Search is more susceptible to being fooled by page ranking tricks than Google is.  I'm sure you made it to page 4 legitimately, not by page ranking tricks. ;)  (I did see your page on MSN Search... Didn't see it on Google, but I didn't look through all the results of course).

eric22222, im using msn search.
I'll try some google searches for different things later on.
Page Ranking Tricks? What's a page ranking trick, although I checked my page rank on Google Page Rank Checker, I got a 2. I didn't do any link exchanges or anything but yesterday I put my site on a game development directory. I can't remember what it's called anymore. Yesterday I did some meta tags with tons of things.

I know. When my mom got her website, basicdiaper.com (she sells diapers over the internet :) ) she went nuts. She's in about a million directories, a million link exchange things, and all kinds of other stuff, She was doing a banner ad thing on google for a while. on Froogle shes like on the first page for 'cloth diapers'. She went crazy ;D

Meta tags and link exchanges, for example, can be considered "page ranking tricks" as can adding lots of the same phrase to your page (more than necessary).  Google supposedly sees through (ignores) the tricks of meta tags and redundant phrases.  That's right, meta tags won't affect your ranking on google.  Anything that makes your site seem more relevant or interesting than it actually is could be considered a page ranking trick.

Oh, I see. I remember my mom saying that you're not supposed to have more than like 7 of the same version of a word (ie. game,gamer,gaming...). So I didn't do that. I used all the relevant words to my site. And I remember my mom reading somewhere that without your site on google, it's like owning a huge store on a highway that nobody ever goes on. Curse you Google! =K.lol
Oh well, it'd be nice to actually get a hit from somebody I don't know...But getting my site 'out there' isn't a very big thing because, a. I sell nothing, I have no Paid Adverts, b. I'm on a geocities 'free' website, with only 15 megs of hosting, Ive still got 9.4 left ;D
