What is the Best Freeware game of all time? I vote Soldat. Similar to Liero but better in every way. But nowhere near as well known.

Though it'd be tough to narrow down, I do have one I really like: Tune. It's pretty much a game about game design. It has goals to meet and everything, but you're in charge of things like player speed, jumping height, and eventually gravity. Very good music, too.

Interesting -- a game about game design.  We've got all sorts of things blurring the line between programming and gaming -- SGDK, Tune ... yup all 2 sorts of things :)
