here it is!

if you want to see your desktop look weird, take a screenshot and paste it onto paint and then save it as a GIF format

the first one, error2, is the one when you  try to play a game for 2.1

the next one, map error, is the one when you go to the map editor

the last one is the text in the map error

A PNY built Geforce 9500 PCI-E with 512mb Ram works as well.

I'm not so interested any more in what works on SGDK 2.0 since 2.1 is what I hope people will be mostly caring about pretty soon.  I'll have to get my latest set of updates wrapped up and posted soon, I guess.

Ah, to be more specific, the above mentioned cards work with SGDK2.1 in both Win XP and Ubuntu linux. There are some random crashes due to the SLI setup on the release 10 version of Ubuntu machine, but the stable release Ubuntu runs cleanly with SGDK2.1 on my older machine.

Wow, I didn't know anyone else (besides Durnurd) was running SGDK2 in Linux.  How exactly does that work again?  Do you run it in some sort of emulation/translation, or does the Mono framework know how to run it directly, or do you re-compile it for Mono?

So far it runs horribly! I have VMware installed and run in an emulation mode, but it is clunky.

Ah, well, VMWare would make it run a bit slowly.  What you really mean then, is that it run under Windows under VMWare under Ubuntu.  It can be made to run natively, but it currently requires recompiling after removing a few lines of code.

You shouldn't really have to worry about this so much, any modern video card will support it just fine.

I've seen it running on ATI 3 and 4 series cards, Nvidia 8 and 9 series cards, and also Nvidia's new GTX*** series of cards.

A couple weeks ago someone was pointing out that a number of the developers that he was working were unable to run it, so it's not quite a foregone conclusion that it'll work.  The project kind of fell apart before we had a chance to get more details about the developers' configurations, though.

What version of opengl does sgdk2 use? if it's 2.1 or higher, then intel intergrated won't work anymore.

It's safe to say that it operates for
NVidia GeForce 7xxx, 8xxx, 9xxx, GTxxxx
ATI Radeon HD3xxx, 4xxx, 5xxx

I've seen it running on one card from each of those series, and the cards in the series are identical, except for clock speeds, number of stream processors etc. They support the same opengl versions, directx versions, shader models etc.

The actual cards I've seen it running on are
ATI Radeon HD4870
ATI Radeon HD4890
ATI Radeon HD3850
ATI Radeon HD5770
NVidia GeForce 7600gt
NVidia GeForce 8600gt
NVidia GeForce 9800gt
NVidia GeForce GTS250
NVidia GeForce GTX275

It looks like it only requires 1.2 (that's what the code is checking for), but I'm not sure how to verify that's all it actually needs.
