« on: 2006-01-14, 04:27:07 PM »
has anyone had the gamedev REALLY act up on you when you go to anything full screen mode, or you can't really see the cursor in the tileset editor?

i think i have a fix: lower video card acelleration.

i believe the tileset problem is a bit universal, not really specific to your graphic card

On some graphics cards the whole screen will flash as you move the mouse around.  This is usually fixed (worked around) by pressing the reset button near the color palette.  This might be affected by video drivers/hardware.  On other cards just the mouse pointer will flicker as you move it.  I'm not sure this can be affected by video card drivers, and it's not fixed by hitting the palette reset button.

right click->propertys->settings->advanced->video card acceleration
if this is lowered, the cursor doesn't flicker. i've tried this on multiple PC's.

It does indeed fix a couple of problems when I open the tileset editor.  However, since I rarely use that, and I need the acceleration up at max for some of the things I do, I'll leave it up.  But that's just me.  If anybody is experiencing similar problems, this will fix it.  Other problems I noticed was a random grey line showing up at the top of the editor area in the tileset editor.  It looks like a tile with grey on the top, but when I store the image, it's not there.  This problem is also solved by lowering the video card acceleration.

Also: If you don't have a "Video Card Acceleration" tab, it might be under the "Troubleshooting" tab instead.
