Animated GIFs

So, I have this kinda long animated GIF file (215 MB, ~2 hrs).  The only problem is, I haven't found a program that can actually view it properly yet. In case you're wondering, it's an animated GIF of Star Wars, Episode II.  And now that I've got it (I've been trying off and on to make it for a couple of years), how to view it?  Anybody know of any good programs that don't crash with that kind of load?

If you have some knowledge of HTML, you could create an html document on your computer that could be viewed as a web page, and put the gif on it. This should allow you to watch the whole thing, though I'm not sure how long a 215 mb gif would take to load. By the way, if its a gif, doesn't that mean it doesn't have any sound?

mmm... for some reason i remember it being possible for thm to have sound... though i wouldn't really trust my memory.

woah, my brain's slow this morning or something -- I had the hardest time figuring out whether I meant to say "had" or "hadn't" above   Took me about 3 minutes to figure it out... and I'm still not sure it's right!

Let's see... if he hadn't tried it, he wouldn't have posted the question because he would have had to try it first in order to be at a loss.

Yes, I did create an HTML document and tried it in Firefox, Internet Explorer, and Netscape, none of which made it.  Firefox played about the first ten seconds then started to play slower than a baby in molases (There's a picture).  Internet Explorer didn't even start playing it, but just started flashing black and white.  I expected Netscape to work similarily to Firefox, since they are more similar than IE, but it didn't get as far as Firefox (but it did start playing).  I also tried loading the GIF file directly into the browser without an HTML file, but it made no difference.

The Windows Image previewer acted similar to Firefox.  I tried Macromedia Fireworks, that couldn't even open it.  I attempted to load it into GIF Construction Set Profesional but that's an older program that literally has to load every frame into memory before hand, and I didn't wait for it to finish (I had no way of knowing how far along it was). Then, I tried opening it in Adobe ImageReady with similar results to GIF Construction Set Profesional.  Importing it into Flash (where I exported it from), the same problem ended up happening.

While I generally don't view Quicktime as an Animated GIF viewer, I tried it anyway.  I'm sure you can guess by now what happened.

oen thing i could think to try is using casperlabs gypsee pro. it's a gif editor, and even though it's shareware, it works great. (just has a nag screen, no other real limitations).
