RANAT update...soon
on my next update, ill post two files. the first one, called "RANAT_qtr_Demo_nomusic.exe" will be the game without the music. if you want the music, download both the first one, and "RANAT_qtr_Demo_Musicfiles.exe". extract the first one first and then the second one TO THE EXACT SAME FOLDER!!! just note that with the music, it is about a 10 min download for dial-up (and a few hours to upload)

enjoy!

If you have a small hard disc and cannot afford to partition it then you could just download ubuntu, burn to disc, boot off it, and click live cd. You will effectively be using ubuntu and the preinstalled programs without having to install ubuntu. Although it will be slower to use than if you installed it.

if you download the no sound only, you need to replace the gdp file with this one. if you get the sound, you don't need to replace it

I played it. Its cool!  ;D I got stuck a lot on the maze part. Out of curiosity, did
you design your character to have zero gravity? I supposed you did because
that is the best way to get through the maze.

What is the text to the right? I noticed what "safe" was, but was was desert point
and that other one.

Thanks.

i have zero gravity for testing purposes, eventually i get rid of it and replace it with the rocket/rocket boots when i finish the level.

on the first maze you can just go right over the whole thing until i put the rocket boots in.

on the second maze, which has gravity, i forgot to mention that you press x when standing to super jump (spring boots). it will make more sense when i update the sprite

to clarify: <- is LEFT  and -> is right. the text on the left side is for testing purposes, and because of my short term memory loss, i forgot to hide them before releasing this. the desert point is for the deset bike level, which creates a small dot right behind you after about 50 frames. the jump one was originally for the desert cave, but i found out a way that would work without it.

did you get the music version? i made all those myself. and did you try the boss level yet? you need to go to the edit map screen to see it for now, but when i finish it i will have it go right after maze 1

and if you want to try level7, at the title screen press ZXC and down to go to the Levl selector and choose level7. it not quite finished, but i finshed the boulder part and the ladder part. eventually i will put the Super rocket in there.

in my opinion, i liked BFD because of the effects used on the 64 that no one has even tried yet. then L&R uses updated graphics, sound, and effects (you almost want to pet your TV) only problem with L&R is that GMP is censored, but i still like the music update. i also like that way that Rare tries to use everything possilbe from a game system.

it's not the graphics or sound I care about. The whole game was reinvented to take place in the future with lazers and spaceships and crap. It was like Star Wars all over again. It was one of the most awful games I had played in my life.

I've never liked 3d platform games, so I don't plan on purchasing it.
I believe they were more entertaining in 2d.

You know, the same thing happened to the "worms" franchise. Was awesome in 2d, 3d was mediocre.
